Moore’s Law and its Implications for Information Warfare
نویسنده
چکیده
Moore's Law, de ned in the sixties, predicts a monotonic increase in available computing power with time. With the commodi cation of high performance microprocessors, very large amounts of computing power are now readily available in the open market, at very modest cost. This paper will explore some of the implications of this phenomenon for IW in the coming decades, and propose some guidelines for IW strategists and planners.

The Lives and the Death of Moore’s Law
Moore’s Law has been an important benchmark for developments in microelectronics and information processing for over three decades. During this time, its applications and interpretations have proliferated and expanded, often far beyond the validity of the original assumptions made by Moore. Technical considerations of optimal chip manufacturing costs have been expanded to processor performance,...

Silicon chip design has passed a threshold whereby exponentially increasing transistor density (Moore’s Law) no longer translates into increased processing power for single-processor architectures. Moore’s Law now expresses itself as an exponentially increasing number of processing cores per fixed-size chip. We survey this process and its implications on programming language design and static a...

The implications of embedded methodologies have been far-reaching and pervasive. After years of compelling research into scatter/gather I/O, we demonstrate the study of multi-processors. Our focus in our research is not on whether IPv4 and information retrieval systems can synchronize to solve this question, but rather on presenting a highly-available tool for controlling Moore’s Law (Ibis).
متن کاملMoore's Law and Social Theory: Deconstructing and Redefining Technology Industry's Innovation Edict
The importance of technological innovation in defining and shaping our global economy has made it a central research topic over the past decade. The rise of electronics manufacturing technology, specifically the silicon transistor technology, is considered a major factor influencing technological innovation and in turn, affecting the world’s economic and social transformation. The process of te...

The steady increase in CMOS imager pixel count is built on the technology advances summarized as Moore’s law. Because imagers must interact with light, Moore’s Law impact differs from its impact on other integrated circuit applications. In this paper, we investigate how the trend towards smaller pixels interacts with two fundamental properties of light: photon noise and diffraction. Using simul...
